The Bexley Women’s Club scholarship program, a primary focus of the club, began in 1937 when $50 scholarships were awarded to two women students attending Capital University and The Ohio State University. Modest by today’s standards, those $50 scholarships paid the women’s tuition with some left over for additional expenses.
Today’s scholarship program is open to men and women alike who fall in two different categories: high school seniors who are residents of Bexley and college students nationwide. Since its inception, the Bexley Women’s Club scholarship program has awarded nearly $400,000 to more than 775 deserving students.

The BWC Scholarship Fund is Growing!
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of BWC members and the generosity of members and their families, the BWC scholarships grew from two $50 awards in 1937 to twenty $500 awards in 1997.
As the result of the great success of our annual Bexley House & Garden Tours begun in 2008, BWC awarded $1,000 scholarships to 28 students in 2011.
The Bexley House & Garden Tours celebrate and bring together the ideals of the Bexley community and its history while at the same time promoting education. BWC believes that the Tours encourage increased financial support from the community, more participation from students, and ultimately increased recognition and support for this historic and relevant scholarship program. With the continued success of the House & Garden Tours, BWC members hope to regularly increase the size of scholarships and make them available to a growing number of students.
