Since 1937 Bexley Women’s Club (BWC) has been awarding annual scholarships to worthy students who are college-bound. During the past 79 years approximately $460,000 has been awarded to over 840 students. One of our recipients expressed in her thank you note, “Beyond the financial benefit of the award, I feel privileged to be recognized by your esteemed group.” Each year the Club receives greater numbers of applications from worthy students such as this one than we have funds available for awarding scholarships.
Historically, many of the scholarships are awarded in memory or honor of individuals who have been a vital part of BWC or the Bexley community. Now you, too, can help lessen the gap between applicants and recipients and have your name or that of another individual or business attached to a scholarship award! What an excellent way to honor a community member or to remember a loved one who cherished their time in the Bexley schools.
All scholarships that are awarded are in the amount of $1,000. A family or business may elect to donate that amount to the BWC Scholarship Fund with their chosen scholarship name to be announced when the scholarship is awarded to a recipient, who will have been selected by participation in the BWC scholarship application process.
